Meet the SEASTARS Consortium: Advancing Sustainable Maritime Innovation

The SEASTARS consortium brings together 19 partners from 9 countries, combining expertise from across the maritime value chain to support the transition toward more sustainable and energy-efficient shipping.

The consortium includes shipowners and operators, shipbuilders and naval architects, maritime technology providers, research institutions, digital solution developers, classification and regulatory advisors, maritime training organizations, and industry associations. Through this multidisciplinary collaboration, SEASTARS aims to develop practical and scalable decarbonization solutions for the maritime sector.

As part of the project, the consortium will demonstrate innovative technologies and modular solutions across eight vessels, including four retrofit and four newbuild applications, covering inland, short-sea, and deep-sea shipping operations.

By integrating advanced engineering, digitalization, alternative fuels, energy-efficiency technologies, and sustainable maritime practices, SEASTARS seeks to accelerate the decarbonization of shipping while supporting operational flexibility and long-term industry resilience.
