All consortium partners met at the vibrant city of Athens to start ahead the EU commission project SEASTARS.
We’re proud to celebrate the SEASTARS project and its ambitious mission to revolutionize the maritime industry with sustainable innovation.
By targeting a 30% reduction in well-to-wake GHG emissions by 2030 (compared to 2008 levels) and achieving a 20% improvement in energy efficiency (compared to 2022 performance), SEASTARS is setting new benchmarks in maritime design and technology.
This visionary project will deliver eight market-ready vessel designs—four retrofits and four new builds—catering to inland, short-sea, and high-seas shipping. With cutting-edge technologies at its core, SEASTARS is paving the way for a cleaner, greener, and more efficient future in global shipping.
A special thank you to all partners who contributed to the discussions and outcomes and made this kick-off event a success.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Agnieszka Zaplatka, European Commission Project Officer, for her speech and invaluable support in driving the SEASTARS project forward.
