SEASTARS 1st General Assembly in Wageningen

We are thrilled to kick off the 1st General Assembly of the SEASTARS Project at the MARIN (Maritime Research Institute Netherlands) HQ in Wageningen!

The consortium partners gather to align our efforts on maritime decarbonisation, exchange progress on our cutting-edge demo vessels, and co-design strategies for the future of sustainable shipping.

With 8 vessel concepts, modular retrofitting, and advanced clean energy integration, SEASTARS is on course to deliver climate-neutral solutions across all waters – inland, short-sea, and high-seas.

On the second day of the SEASTARS Project General Assembly, hosted at the renowned MARIN HQ in Wageningen, our consortium continued its collaborative efforts toward shaping the future of sustainable shipping.

Discussions focused on:

  • Technical requirements for aligning with Fit for 55 targets
  • Effective communication, dissemination, and exploitation strategies
  • Streamlined project management alongside our CINEA Project Officer

Grateful for the insightful exchanges and continued commitment of all partners as we advance innovative and scalable maritime decarbonisation solutions.

The final day of our General Assembly in Wageningen wrapped up with a dynamic mix of technology, training, and teamwork!

Partners were given an exclusive tour of the cutting-edge MARIN (Maritime Research Institute Netherlands) facilities and test labs, showcasing some of Europe’s top maritime R&D infrastructure.

We also hosted a hands-on Model-Based Systems Engineering (#MBSE) workshop, where partners co-created the logical and physical architecture of SEASTARS vessel design concepts.

Thank you to the MARIN (Maritime Research Institute Netherlands) team for the hospitality and to all partners for their inspiring engagement!
