SEASTARS Highlights Day 2 Activities at Posidonia 2026

SEASTARS successfully continued its participation at Posidonia 2026, taking part in key dissemination and stakeholder engagement activities focused on sustainable ship design and maritime decarbonisation.

A key activity was the filming of the project’s second promotional video, where partners shared insights on SEASTARS’ vision and its contribution to more sustainable and energy-efficient shipping. The material will support the project’s communication activities and dissemination towards the wider maritime community.

A central highlight of the day was the SEASTARS & FLEETfor55 Open Day, co-organised by the two Horizon Europe projects. The session included project presentations, a classification society perspective, an expert panel discussion, and an interactive Q&A with the audience. Discussions focused on innovative vessel concepts, digitalisation, retrofit and newbuild strategies, and practical pathways towards zero-emission shipping.

The Open Day attracted strong interest from more than 80 participants, including representatives from industry, research organisations, classification societies, and EU-funded projects, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in maritime decarbonisation.

Visitors also engaged with SEASTARS at the HEMEXPO booth, where the project presented its PCTC Lego model and showcased its work on MBSE-driven vessel design, Digital Twin solutions, and modular approaches for retrofit and newbuild decarbonisation.

Overall, Posidonia 2026 provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, visibility, and engagement with the wider maritime innovation ecosystem.
